Sagola in high-end finishing for the sports and leisure marine sector: two training days with the IMRON MARINE range (Axalta)
On 15 and 16 September, at the paint manufacturer's request, Sagola supported the technicians specialising in the IMRON MARINE range at the manufacturer's training centre in Madrid, working to get the most out of the main spray finishing equipment commonly used in this sector, which is geared mainly to the finishing of sports and leisure craft and luxury yachts.
The sessions brought together 26 professional painters from the Balearic Islands, the Valencian Community and Andalusia, through the distributors Riera H and Perchán.
Equipment set-up, the core of both days
Most of the training was devoted to setting up the pressure equipment, combining the 10-litre Sagola 6110 Inox pressure pot — stainless steel and ATEX certified — with the pressure-feed version of the Sagola X4100, seeking the balance between a flawless finish and optimum paint consumption while maintaining high productivity. The right combinations were used for each stage of the process, 1.00 mm fluid tips (clearcoats and high-gloss finishes) and 1.20 mm (primers, wet-on-wet), together with the 777 and 765 air caps for maximum performance and application speed, with constant emphasis on how to achieve optimum pressure and flow settings.
The Sagola 4600 DFT and 4600 HEX for detail work
Alongside the pressure equipment, the Sagola 4600 DFT was used for basecoat blends and the Sagola 4600 HEX for repainting and for blending in clearcoat patches.
Both use air caps with DFT technology, which draws on ambient air to achieve the same atomisation at a lower working pressure. Hence lower paint consumption, less overspray and a more stable fan pattern.
Working alongside paint manufacturers

The success of these sessions means that Sagola will continue to take part in further training activities for this sector, due to take place during October.
